New Paragraph
Sleep Time:
We turn the Toddler Room into a sleep room between the hours of 1-2 pm. The room becomes a relaxing, calming environment. We ensure the room is darkened this allows the children to have the sleep/rest that their body needs. When children no longer require a sleep they enjoy exploring the outdoor provision or joining in with a focused activity.
We understand that sleep safety is paramount to the care that we provide.
Our policy follows the advice set out by Lullaby Trust to minimise the risk of Sudden Infant Death.
All staff that are caring for sleeping children have first aid training and we visually monitor sleeping children’s breathing every 5 minutes for children under 12 months old and children over the age of 1 years are monitored every 10 minutes. A staff member always supervising any children who are sleeping. (Please feel free to request to read our Sleep Policy).
We follow the 'ABCs' of Safer Sleep which are:
Alone – we ensure that the children’s sleep area is clear on clutter such as soft toys and excess blankets however, we do understand that some children have comforters and they be used when required.
Back –when putting children down for a sleep they are always placed on their backs. If a child can roll from back to front confidently on their own, they will be left to find their own position.
Cot – we have cots available for our younger children however, for our older children we have mattress beds. Each child will have their own individual sheet and blanket which is changed every week.

Supporting your child with potty training:
Potty Training can be a very challenging time for both your child and yourself as parents. Every child is different and will develop at different stages and they will show different signs when that they are ready to begin potty training. Children typically begin to potty train between the ages of two-three years, however every child is unique and some children may be ready before this or take a little bit longer. It is very important to make sure that you begin potty training when both you and your child are ready to take on this milestone, as starting potty training too early can cause anxiety regarding the potty.
Here are some signs that your child may be ready to begin potty training:
These are all positive signs that your child may be ready to begin potty training.
